2016 Schedule

June 5, 2016

Dear Congregation and Friends of the Church of the Redeemer,

On behalf of the Board of Trustees of the Church of the Redeemer, we hope that this letter finds all of our congregation, friends and neighbors in good health and spirits.

Sunday, June 19, 2016 marks Father’s Day and our opening services:  8:30 and 10:00 am.  This season the bells will ring the welcoming call to Sunday services.

We have a very excellent visiting priest schedule this season: Rev. Paul Jeanes (Princeton) - June 19 and 26;  Rev. John Baker (Alexandria, VA) - July 3 and 10;  Rev. Tim Gavin - July 17 and 24; Rev. Edward Gleason (Naples Florida) - July 31; Rev. Bill Lewellis (Bethlehem, PA) - August 7 and 14; Rev. Henry Hudson (New Orleans) - August 21, 28 and September 4.

This season, we invited Bishop Chip Stokes to consecrate our new bells and we hope that his very busy summer schedule will allow it.

Rev. Edward Gleeson will preside at the inaugural Blessing of the Fleet on the rocks.  Boats will be blessed as they motor or sail by and the bells will ring out the glory of God.

Rev. Bill Lewellis will once again preside at the Blessing of the Animals which brings many of our four-legged friends to the Redeemer.

A post-fire marriage ceremony will take place July 23 and the bells will sing out the Wedding Peal as the newly-married couple greet all those in attendance.

The Bell Fund is still open for gifts so please see Annie Martin if you wish to make a donation.  Also, see Annie should you wish to purchase at cost ($10.00) a distinctive Redeemer hat which has an embroidered image of the center of the Lavino Hall rose window.

Blessings to all and hope to see you on Father’s Day.

Peace,

Thomas J. Subranni

Church Bell Installation

Greetings All,

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I would like to announce that, at long last, the church bells will be installed in the bell tower this Monday, March 14, 2016.

Bob Young of Young’s Rigging in Egg Harbor Township has been storing the bells and equipment for months, waiting for a break in the weather - and break it did, as you all know.

I will be on the scene early Monday morning and will take photos and share them will all of you.

Following the hoisting of the bells and equipment into the tower, they will be operational on April 15, 2016, when Philippe Paccard of Paccard Foundry, Lac d’Annez, France, installs the striking and swinging motors, configures the Harmony Controller and tests the bells.

The bell ringing program will follow both religious and civic protocols.

I am sure you all share our excitement for this occasion.

A consecration ceremony is planned later this season, and we hope Bishop Chip Stokes will be in attendance.

Bishop Stokes donated to the Bell Fund the plate collection which was given at the time of the Redeemer consecration for which Bishop Stokes presided.

Traditionally, a visiting Bishop is given the plate collection for the Bishop’s discretionary fund and used for charitable purposes.

Bishop Stokes felt that the Redeemer Bells was a worthy recipient of these funds.  Thanks goes out to our Bishop Stokes!

We hope to see you this coming season and bring your friends and neighbors to grow the Redeemer church attendance which has been increasing over the years.

Peace,  Tom Subranni, for the Board of Trustees, Church of the Redeemer
